Review on Samsung BD F5100 Blu Ray Player Model by Ananta Crowley

Bought this model to complement my Samsung Smart TV for my bedroom. I liked the compact size and easy setup, but after the second use it started making loud noises, crackling, and loud buzzing. Very distracting, hard to focus on the movie. Then I tried to turn off the device but it was still noisy. It did nothing, including ejecting my disc and playing after I stopped the movie (I tried using both the remote and manually on the device itself, neither worked). Will try to get my drive out and send it back. . Fortunately, Revain handles returns well. I don't know, I only have "lemon" or is that a problem with this model. But I won't risk another one. When you connect it to a Samsung TV, using the disc player remote is friendly or annoying as it turns off your TV when you just want to turn off the disc player. Disc player remote control button works automatically/inconveniently on TV. Maybe I could program the Samsung TV remote into the disc player and just use one remote, but I'm not sure. I didn't manage to use the disc player long enough before it broke. *Update to check: Had to unplug and plug back in disc player, then unlock to eject and play DVD and shut down. However, it was still quite loud. That way, between that possibly recurring "glitch" and the noise factor, I still come back. Instead I'll buy the Samsung BD-F5900 and see how it performs.
