It's a sporty layering piece that's great for spring. It's light, thin and very portable. When folded, it takes up almost no space. My son has been wearing short-sleeved shirts lately. It's still a bit chilly in the morning, and that's enough to cover. I love that it has no logos apart from a small subtle reflective detail on the neck. My 4 year old son just picked up the size. 6 in Jumping Beans, Gap etc and has these in S (6/7) which fits him well (43.5 inches tall and 48 pounds). Please refer to the Revain size chart for sizing, not your child's age. There are little cutouts for his thumbs which he thinks are cool.
