This replacement is the same size as my original Lights of America lamp. I didn't notice this until I put the second lamp on my desk, but over time they lose their brightness. This replacement lamp is much better than the original and when used on my desk with another lamp of the same type the light spreads out nicely and evenly. therapeutic effect. I don't consider myself a SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) person, but I have found that this type of lighting is better and allows me to work longer with less mental fatigue than other types of lighting. There is a large window above my desk, so sunlight is not a problem. Also, I live in an area that gets lots of blue skies year-round. However, I am convinced that these lamps have a secondary benefit which, as I said, allows you to work at the table with less eye fatigue and mental activity.
