Great product with good range and battery life saved me in an emergency

I actually have both a 155 and 275 but I would recommend anyone to get a 275 I really don't understand what the purpose of 155 is except to save a few bucks. It's not much smaller than the 275 and has less range. 275 is great. The battery lasts for several days if you do not transmit, but only monitor the 16th channel. Unfortunately, my kit didn't come with a DC charging cable, so I can only charge it at home with 120 volt AC. I think you can get a DC charging cable for it, but although it's advertised with a DC charging cable, at least I don't have one. The range at 275 is wide. The longest transmission I've transmitted is about 50 miles to the CG station while fishing the open sea when I lost power in an emergency - apparently this was only possible because the CG has multiple elevation towers, but the strength of the Transmission with the function, the "Boost" gear is more than sufficient for long journeys. With normal boat-to-boat communication, given the curvature of the earth, the range is about 5-10 miles.
