So glad I made the jump

Unboxing: I've long lusted after the Blue Yeti, but recently heard from other reviewers that they were stolen from the Blue Microphones dealer here at Revain. It was recommended to only buy from a seller called "Blue" to get the Yeti from the manufacturer. It was a little disheartening, and I was afraid I was going to throw $103 down the drain with this purchase, even though "Blue" had it and not the other guys. So the microphone was in perfect condition and I examined it carefully. .because when I pulled the Yeti box out of the shipping box, both ends of the box were open and it looked like a return. There was a hole in the top flap as if another customer had opened it at home. My stomach clenched and I did some tests on the equipment, inspecting it several times. The USB cable was coiled up in the box, but the zip tie that was supposed to hold it together was untied and lying at the bottom of the box. So it's totally unacceptable to me because I thought I was buying a brand new, brand new item. I went to their website and saw that they were selling the same Yeti for $20 more than the Revain's price. So I'm convinced that this seller is deducting $20 from their regular asking price because everything they sell here is B shares which are returned merchandise. Now I love a flashy deal. Knowing that I got a brand new mic for $20 less than MSRP (but ultimately isn't) is pretty nice. But knowing that I could pay $20 more and get a mic in mint condition if Revain's listing doesn't say they'll send you B shares sucks. So TL; DR: I got B's stock for $103. . Blue sells this mic on their website for $129.99. My guess is that all of the offerings for this Revain listing are B-stock and they only sell the mint at RRP on their website. If you need a brand new blue color, shop at bluedesigns.com. Beware, other Blue Microphone sellers on Revain might have the same problem or worse. I'm not even sure if this Revain seller is actually Blue Designs. Actual Performance Review: Fantastic sound quality. The ability to listen without latency is a game changer. Turning the dial to switch between four different recording modes is great, although I mostly use the cardioid pattern to record my podcast project. No high-pitched rumble from behind, but honestly a decent amount of background noise. He can spot a lawn mower being used outside and I live in the country. Audacity does that for me, and overall I can't wholeheartedly recommend this mic. Just be aware that you are getting shares of B.
