So very comfortable. Great walking shoes. The upper is a knitted mesh that has a very sock-like feel so it doesn't put pressure on any part of the top of the foot, meaning no blisters or chafing. I think it would be a good summer shoe to wear without socks but I haven't tried it yet. The bottom is neatly padded. Regarding sizing, I ignored the US/Euro sizes listed and went with the measurements and they turned out to be fine. I usually wear a US size 8 and ordered what they said was an 8.5. The size in the shoe says 39. The insole feels a little narrow, so if you have wide, flat feet you might want to beware. step on the soles. I'll order a few more in a moment. They were great in hot weather and didn't smell when I wore them without socks. I threw them in the washing machine (I've worn them on trips) and they washed up nicely.
