This is a review of the Epson LS500 UST projector. Picture quality isn't the best - bright, sharp, focused with great contrast even without a real screen. I look forward to the late delivery of the ALR screen and can't wait for the improvement. A couple of annoying things - the UI is absolute pit. Using two remotes is just impractical. The settings page looks like it was designed with the Apple IIe (archaic) in the 1980s. Connection options for sound and accessories are also missing. No Bluetooth? No optical sound? I was able to get HDMI ARC to work with a Yamaha soundbar. I can't use Bose with an optical connection and Bluetooth. Compared to the Bomaker 4K UST, Epson wins in image quality. Bomaker wins in everything else, including the user interface, Bluetooth, built-in speakers, fan noise, design, etc. Despite some annoying things and non-working ethernet, the picture quality is pretty damn impressive. I'll continue to see if this archaic UI will be difficult to use.
