Review on LG DP122 DVD Player: Experience DIVX and Record Audio CDs to USB by Amrozi Goodall

If you like downloading YouTube videos, you can forget about playing them on this device. There is no excuse for that. MP4 file format is widespread and universal and ignored by LG. You need to convert all the MP4s you have when you watch them on TV with this player. You NEVER need to "convert" a video file to view it on this device. Too bad. It immediately cost him 2 stars. you have been warned After further consideration, I decided to deduct another star. Because even if you use a file conversion program (such as Format Factory) to convert from MP4 to AVI, you'll still be rewarded with a message in beautifully crafted Chinglish. Trouble I would return this player to Revain and pay a little more for a much better player. LG lost a lot of points for me. (See below.) Conclusion: If you want to watch videos on a flash drive, note that this device CANNOT play FLV, AVI (!), MP4 or WMV. Only mpg and divx will be played. But you *NEVER* have to convert a file to play it on this device. They should have released a firmware update many years ago to fix this problem. Shame about LG.
