The bristles disappear in the heat.
I used this brush once and leaned it against the back of the house. It was in direct sunlight for several days before I used it again and the bristles were literally half gone. Apparently the sunlight and the heat of our bay shore had shrunk the bristles to half their length and made them very stiff. Maybe they melted, I don't know. Either way, be sure to store your brush in a cool, dark place. π
