A bed with feather pillows that's too hot now

I'm about to write the weirdest review if Revane will let me. I've slept on my side with a down and feather pillow all my life and now that I'm 51 I can't stand feathers anymore because I'm in a sweaty mess and can't sleep. So begins the search for a pillow that's cool and feather-light at the same time. Based on the reviews I chose COOP (this one), Nestl and Everpillow. I plan to post the same review in all three places. First, the COOP has the prettiest interlock shape with 2" piping and an added sawdust bag. However, it's already too much fodder for you to put yourself to sleep. As you sleep on it, it clumps and clumps overnight to form a firmer foam pillow. The pillow is adjustable, so after a night with a sore neck I gutted the pillow and tried again. Better, but not there yet. On the pillow number 2 - Everpillow. This unique side bed has a U-shaped design. It's smaller in form factor, as others have said, but the idea was a good one. Again, you can remove the shelf, but this one does not have an additional one, apparently, if necessary, you can call one of the companies. Not me. Again it was too much anyway. Not as many as COOP, but still too many. Repeat the previous steps, core the pillow and try again. This pillow needs to have a second one underneath to properly place your main arm, but space for the upper arm is a good idea. Still not there, on pillow 3, Nestl. This is the cheapest pillow ever. That big selling point is cost. However, after sleeping on it, 2 things stood out. The blue side is really cool. It's actually awesome, it's so cool and it also has a warm side BUT this pillow is way too stuffed and compressing it overnight into a giant block of foam reminiscent of those gel foal pillows you get was the worst part can buy . In the morning my neck was bent and I had a headache. Repeated the process with pillow #1 and #2 - cored the pillow and tried again, not bad, a little lumpy but not terrible. So now I have a bunch of filler, super thin gel chunks and floating silk threads from COOP, a weird light brown silky substance from Everpillow, and clumpy larger 1/2 to 3 inch gel chunks from Nestl. Then it hits me. Pour into the box and stir. What causes clumping and shrinkage is the only material/size used in each pillow. Down/feather pillows come in a variety of sizes and materials. Also, even when crushed, the gel foam turns into a solid brick once the air escapes, which happens at night when your head is resting on it. So I gutted the rest of the pillows and mixed the whole mess evenly and then placed it back into the different bowls, leaving room for movement to mimic the movement of the feather pillow. This morning I had all I could do to get out of this bed. I haven't been this calm and comfortable since those ridiculous sweats started. FYI, they're wrapped in Coolmax pillowcases, which are great for cool sheets. - My suggestion: if you sleep on your side you need to be cool or just skip feathers, buy all three and mix. Each had its own unique quality and all three uses were different, but none of the three worked on their own. Together I can finally sleep without my feathers.

Pros
  • NATURALLY COOL AND BREATHABLE - NO GELS OR SYNTHETICS NEEDED TO COOL. Waking up sweaty is the worst! The secret to a cool pillow is breathability, and you might not even realize your pillow isn't breathable until you try one that is. Memory foam, gel and feathers are the enemies of a cool night's sleep. Grab an Everpillow and discover what natural and breathable can do for your sleep.
