Just came in from out of town and used this speaker and wanted to remember when I bought it. I was immediately surprised by the reviews. Although I haven't read the reviews in detail, I can only compare them with my own experience, which I want to share. I bought it as a small table speaker for summer days in the yard. Solar energy was not the main goal, but longevity. That was in 2013. This will be the sixth summer in a row and it will continue! During this time I bought several other speakers when there were great deals ($50 or less). My family makes me sad about this because everyone (including me) thinks this device has always worked great. So, out of all the others I've tried, there were a few that sounded better but didn't hold up. A few others had tricky Bluetooth connections, and some just couldn't handle drops. Overall, none of them could replace these in the most important properties: reliability, durability and of course sound. After writing this, it may be time to admit that this is "the one" and stop. looking for a replacement.
