My experience has been amazing - since 2013

Just came in from out of town and used this speaker and wanted to remember when I bought it. I was immediately surprised by the reviews. Although I haven't read the reviews in detail, I can only compare them with my own experience, which I want to share. I bought it as a small table speaker for summer days in the yard. Solar energy was not the main goal, but longevity. That was in 2013. This will be the sixth summer in a row and it will continue! During this time I bought several other speakers

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • So far so good

I bought the first one 3 years ago. I liked it so much that I bought another one a year and a half later. So here it is, thin, in my experience the build quality is better than anything I've seen in China barring high-priced items. This price is quite high, so I think it's reasonable. My other Bluetooth speakers (I had over 4 others for various reasons as well as advice for friends). None of the others lasted 3 years (battery stopped charging or bluetooth not working). This one was in the…

Very balanced sound with amazing bass

I don't know how these people did this but I think there is some DSP (digital signal processing) behind the lines to add bass and balance the EQ. I'm surprised that such small speakers produce such a warm and balanced sound, including bass that you wouldn't expect. I grew up with boom boxes and the bass is better than them. Here's an interesting thing: I never liked Bluetooth quality, but I remember it from 2012. It's come a long way, so before I got it I bought a direct connect audio cable…

Nice design but could use some polishing.

I got this device a few falls ago while working at a remote wilderness camp. I needed a way to play music without electricity and at the same time charge my MP3 player for a completely offline system. This device, while functional, is not efficient at all. In direct sunlight, a full charge took about 2 hours. That doesn't sound bad until you consider that playing music with a simple accessory cable will drain the battery back to 0 in almost the same amount of time. We also tried charging our…

DEAD AFTER ONE MONTH

I've wanted a decent solar speaker for a long time. I did a little research and decided on Rukus Xtreme after seeing all the good reviews. Should have listened to the bad guys. I have literally only used this speaker ONCE. I took it on a hike and hung it on a tree to get some sun. It was in the Utah desert, so it was very dry and sunny. No moisture-related problems. During the campground music, the music would slow down and speed up, like one of those drunk scenes in old cartoons. It was very…

Good quality speakers and panel good despite small size hmm lithium

I have this for sale in today's promotion hoping to solve my patio noise problem. We live near a major freeway and there is always traffic noise on our patio. I love listening to baseball games outside, but my Nexus 5's speakers can't handle the noise. This device does the job perfectly. Music is fine too, but don't expect to hear low frequencies. The speakers have good clarity and don't get muddy at higher volumes. I was initially confused by the lack of a switch on the top row of buttons. The

Great idea, terrible execution.

I had a lot of noise a few months ago. Good: I charged it when it arrived, but have left it by the window since. Although I use it several hours a day and occasionally charge my phone with it, I never had to charge it again. Almost every time I checked the battery it said it was fully charged. The solar panel works quite well. Annoying: It beeps when you turn it off and on or when you adjust the volume (including from your phone), and those beeps are loud and annoying. It doesn't turn off…
