These $28 packages worked great on my 2002 Miata (but used old plug boots). The boots are really shorter but I just swapped them out for the old ones. Very simple - no big deal. If you manage to somehow ruin the boot by removing it, you can buy a new one for $5. In the past (I'm told) reel packs didn't even come with end caps. I'm not an expert either, but I don't recommend using short ones as it seems it can leave behind and cause bugs over time. That brings me to my final piece of advice from other owners: if you continue to drive with the check engine light flashing because of a misfire, you risk damaging the catalytic converter.
