Review on Amazon Basics Bonded Leather Big & Tall Executive Office Chair - Cream, 350lb Capacity by George Thorson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's not that difficult to assemble, read why. It looks like a very nice chair.

TIP: Before beginning assembly, first insert screws to prepare the threads. Turn each bolt by hand to avoid stripping the threads, then use the included hex wrench to thread each bolt a few times into ALL the holes. Now unscrew the screws and proceed with the assembly according to the instructions included in the box. This is the method you should use to assemble most things. This simplifies assembly considerably. Reading many questions and reviews about the difficulty of assembling this chair and others was the inspiration to start this review and solve the mystery. It was properly packaged with a net weight (chair) of 38.6 lbs, total weight (gross) 44.1, it seems a little odd that the box and bubble wrap weigh 5.5 lbs. The box is 30.5 inches wide, 15.25 inches deep and 25.25 inches high. The chair was delivered ahead of the estimated time (I have a Prime and live in Tampa, Florida). The parts in the box were well protected depending on the part, either with bubble wrap. or cardboard dividers. No parts are missing. It was delivered by a Revain truck. With tracking, I was able to see the truck's exact location on a map showing the distance and number of stops to my (NOTE: Revain, GREAT feature!) put blue thread sealant on the bolts to prevent the bolts from loosening. I'm glad they did! This is important as I have read many reviews on various chairs that say the screws loosen over time (yes I have a bit of OCD and do a lot of research as I also buy for our office and I prefer redundancy). 2020 as the time of manufacture. I'm 6ft 1in, 250lbs and only used the chair for a day and a half. My first takeaways are that this is a very solid chair, the tilting (rocking) mechanism is great, as is the comfort and size. No rocking from side to side. For the price I give 5 stars, although that may change over time. The finish (or color) of the chair is not that durable. After removing the tape, I removed a small stain of paint from the inside of one of the levers. A small can of paint for model cars and such is relatively cheap at the hobby store ($2-3) and might be a good touch-up if that bothers you. I'm sure they are available online, but seeing the exact color in person can help get a better match. I have back problems and need a chair that can hold and support me in an upright sitting position without feeling like I'll fall back with a little pressure on my back like many chairs do. I adjusted the tension perfectly for this. If I want to rock like a rocking chair, it works great. Good spring tension and looks like a strong spring was used. It can recline just enough to comfortably place your feet on an ottoman or on a table. The reciprocating piston keeps my weight in its maximum position, no problem. The top of the seat is 17 inches from the floor in the lowest position and 21 inches from the floor in the highest position. Squeezing the lift lever locks the chair in an upright position. By pulling it out you can swing or recline, your choice. The chair also has a tension knob to adjust how easily the chair reclines or rocks. The seat is 22 inches wide between the armrests and 21 inches deep (front to back). The back is 21 inches wide at the top, 22 inches at the bottom and 28 inches high. The seat and back padding is 3 inches thick. It seems to keep me up, not down. Only time will tell the truth if it can hold my 250 pounds. The armrests are 2.5 inches wide and 14 inches long with padding about 1 inch thick. When I press, I feel the frame. 6" from the end of the seat and 7" above the seat. You can calculate whether the chair's armrests will fit under the table by adding your desired seat height and about 7.5 to 8 inches for armrest spacing. Overall width from outer armrest to outer armrest 27 inches. NOTE: When I ordered the chair, I also ordered the Everlasting Comfort Seat Cushion for Office Chair - Tailbone Pain Relief Cushion - Coccyx Cushion - Sciatica Seat Cushion (Black). (And I've also ordered "Everlasting Comfort Lumbar Support Pillow for Office Chair - Car Memory Foam Lumbar Pillow (Black)" which isn't due until tomorrow.) I'm not sure I'll ever use (either/both). However, this chair with the seat cushion feels like I'm sitting on a cloud! It fits perfectly on the chair seat and stays in that position thanks to the design of the chair seat cutout for coccyx. As for the constant smell, maybe adult diapers can help you prevent that. Just thought I'd throw this out in case you're reading this!) It rolls up pretty well in Berber rug in my bedroom when I want to roll back to watch TV. I have a cheap chair mat under the table that requires me to lift the front of the chair to allow the chair to return to the mat. I might buy a better chair mat or replace the casters depending on the results of repeated use. I will update this review over time with any bugs or changes I may come across. Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Revain and others. I pay for my product and leave a review when I have time and feel it might help someone. This is my experience with this chair. I hope this can help you! Just wanted to add, again based on reviews, just because an item is made in China doesn't automatically mean it's junk. Keep in mind that they are usually made to specifications by American engineers. If cheap junk is listed, it will be cheap junk! Please let me know if I've missed any details. Thanks for reading, I hope I didn't bore you! Good luck and take care!
