Purchased to roast steaks after sous vide cooking. I have used it with a 1lb camping propane tank. Without an adapter I could not get the flashlight to ignite. No matter how low I set the throttle, the flow was too strong to ignite. The fan-type adapter worked well until you flipped it on its side to brown a steak. It then turns from a small blue flame into a bright orange fireball. After the overturning, liquid propane gas came out of the tank, which does not burn properly. I'm sending this one back for the one with the flare end down.
