My goal in purchasing this mount was to buy once rather than going through a bunch of different options and spending more in the long run. I find it too expensive but I haven't seen an alternative and it offers a lot of flexibility. The arm is easy to maneuver and can be positioned in many different ways. I love that the Arca Swiss Clip is included, making it easy to attach to the tripod collar on my lens. (You can also mount the camera, but it's better to buy a vertical plate.). The item is well built and can be tightened enough to prevent slipping with my Yongnuo 560 ii and Lumiquest iii softbox. If you want to keep it simple and are planning on using an external flash for macro photography, I would recommend taking a look at this product.
