Review on Unstuffed Moroccan Leather Poufs: Exquisite Tan Ottomans for Luxurious Footstools by Amy Fuhrman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good poufs at a great price.

I bought two of these in brown. There is a slight color difference between the two and even individual leather panels, but I agree with that because it just highlights their handiwork. They smell like a tannery, a bit fishy upon first opening, trust me and other reviewers. The smell will dissipate after a few days - air out in the garage or elsewhere before laying. We had a lot of old blankets and pillows in the basement so I didn't have to buy any filling. Needs a lot of filling. A couple of large blankets and a couple of pillows probably went in each ottoman. And it took a lot of work to compress everything to get a nice tight fill. I cut the comforters into 20" x 20" pieces and then folded them inwards and used the filling from the open pillows to stuff the sides. The top and bottom are quite flat and the sides are evenly rounded. I see people who just filled them with loose filler end up with a more spherical shape. Many other online stores sell these pre-filled polystyrene peanuts for double the price. I think filling these do-it-yourself poufs makes for a much nicer end result, recycles old linens and saves money. Lots of things around. I'm very pleased.
