I was disappointed when I took it out of the box - it was an ugly pale brown, almost orange, and felt like frozen cardboard. I bought two of these in brown. There is a slight color difference between the two and even individual leather panels, but I agree with that because it just highlights their handiwork. A happy customer here. I ordered two Moroccan poufs in brown leather with beige stitching. They are exactly what you see in the pictures. The craftsmanship is amazing. They had an odor when first opening the package that wasn't very strong or terrible. It was enough that I wanted them to air out before stuffing. So I put them in the garage for two days. They smell slightly leathery now, but only when I hold my nose to them. They have a few subtle flaws, but not enough to deduct a star. They are
