It will not handle more than 0.4 amps of current. I bought this cable to put the solar panel in the sun and charge devices in the shade at the same time. My solar panel has a meter and it only reads 0.4 amps when this wire is connected, but as soon as I switch to a different wire it jumps to 1.5 amps. My other cable will easily carry 2 amps of current in good conditions, but it looks like I'll never get more than 0.4 amps out of this piece of junk. I didn't spend money on a 28 watt solar panel so I was only able to use a quarter of the power it could produce. I would also like to point out that the product image gallery shows smartphones specifically, which gives the impression that they can be used to charge powerful devices.
