I have a brand new CD and sometimes it bounces like you're driving a car but it doesn't bother me because he rarely does it but that's why he has it he get 3 stars. I put the CD in on the second day and it didn't work, took it out and put it back in and everything was fine - there must have been reading problems initially; because it is programmable. It's a small player with great sound and volume, it's louder than the Sony, I'm considering getting another one. It's easy to use and if you don't want the light to be on there's a switch to turn it off. Discs feel warm when I take them out, which I think is unusual for a player. I don't know anything about durability yet, I've only been using it for a few days. When you buy it it has a label on it telling you not to use rewritable CDs as depending on the quality it may not be able to read them and I think the quality might be an issue with other brand new discs since it bounces a bit. It depends on the CD whether it works or not.
