Apple doesn't allow this with your subscriptions

Yes, it connects to your TV. Yes, you can see your phone screen on your TV screen. You can watch YouTube and that's it. Obviously there is an issue with Apple and licenses or something. Hulu, disney, netflix, espn or other streaming subscriptions i have will not play through this adapter. I've tried this with other iPhones on other TVs to make sure it's not me, my TV, or my phone. I have the same adapter for Samsung and it works great on my TV with all my subscriptions.
