Very Useful!: Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

I love this tool! I make guacamole quite often, which involves cutting, slicing, and mashing about 5 avocados. This tool makes it much quicker and easier than just using a knife and spoon. You can cut, core, scoop and slice; all with one tool. Also, when preparing guacamole, it is much easier to mash up already cut avocados, so this tool saves a lot of time and makes everything easier. I have 2 things I would recommend improving at this point. 1. The cutting blade should be a little longer, avocados can vary greatly in size. This blade is too short for an avocado on the big end.2. Again, since avocados vary in size, the slicer/spatula will not fit all avocados very accurately. Before that I used an avocado slicer/scoop with flexible sides to allow for more efficient slicing/scooping of different sized avocados. If this tool had a longer blade and flexible sides on the cutting/blade end, that would be perfect. I give 4 stars because there are a few things I would like to improve. Here's my (secret) guac recipe: 5 ripe avocados (mashed) 1 can Rotel chili tomatoes (fully dried). They are soft, original and hot; So you can control the spiciness of the guac by choosing the right chili tomatoes. 1 lime, fully juiced (pulp is good too) 1 full bushel of cilantro (finely chopped). Make sure it's washed thoroughly as the cilantro seems to hold onto dirt/sand. I found that there is never too much pepper. The salt also helps bring out the flavor of the avocado. Simply puree everything together with a potato masher. Answer : )
