I bought this hammer to use on perforated metal panels. This is the second rawhide hammer I've bought. The first hammer was WAY too light and didn't get the job done when it came to smoothing out the sheet metal. This hammer is just perfect. He also has a copper face. I used a copper surface to crush the can wherever I folded it in half and it seems to have worked fairly well leaving very little mark. The copper side of the hammer was an unexpected benefit as I've only used rawhide on pewter in the past. Anyway, nice hammer and great for my crafting needs.
