Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable remote control with multiple shooting modes at a very affordable price.

First of all I would like to clarify MY expectations of a remote shutter release. This allows you to release or activate the shutter without actually touching the camera, eliminating or at least reducing the focus problems experienced when pressing the shutter button on the camera itself. This is NOT an app or miniature control for reprogramming or changing camera settings. I say that because judging by other reviews and YouTube videos, some people have much higher expectations for $40 hardware. Design - 4 Stars: I would give 5 stars but I have to agree with one reviewer who didn't like the size and proximity of the buttons on the transmitter - it's too easy to press the wrong button. It would be nice if they were bigger. I don't like the lack of channel lock either. I'll be using it quite a bit at night and want to be more sure it won't slip out of my hands. You've tried using a textured surface, but that doesn't help much. ** I added a tennis racket grip tape (see photo). ** I don't consider the following flaws to be flaws, but they would be good design changes. It would be nice to have a slot on both the transmitter and receiver so you can fish through the strap (wrist or neck for the transmitter and a small clip for the receiver as an alternative method of attaching it to the strap). camera body and attaching to the hot shoe). I'd also like to see some sort of pouch - I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a lot of small gear and since they need to stay together a small cloth pouch makes sense. Presentation to the consumer - 4 stars: I would give it 5 stars for that, but the instructions are not very good - too short and language barrier issues. I'm not saying this to be culturally insensitive, but the simple fact is, instructions must be clear and correct. Luckily, there are videos on YouTube that give good tips on how to fill in the blanks. Feature - 5 stars: so far everything works exactly as it should. I set up the camera in the living room, took the transmitter into the bedroom and closed the door. He took the picture with no problems. Unlike some other reviewers, I don't give it a low score because the camera settings on the camera itself have to be changed in order to use this remote's multiple shooting modes (see my first paragraph). Cost - 4 Stars: I would give it 5 stars but when I searched for the video on YouTube there was also an ad showing it was $12-13 cheaper from several other sellers and at least one from they offered paid shipping. I will check if Revain has any kind of low or reasonable price guarantee. Although I paid $40 instead of $27. I'm still relatively happy with the overall cost and functionality. The Pixel has a much simpler remote system that costs $25 through Revain, so the $40 price point is relatively reasonable for the more robust features. Delivery speed - 5 stars: I ordered this yesterday morning and it was delivered when I arrived. home from work today. I highly recommend this remote control. Although I still have some play to do, I can say it will serve me well. I've tried using my phones as a remote control through the Canon app with mixed results. While I love the Phone app's advanced controls, the unreliable connection just isn't worth the frustrating dropped frames. The reliability of this remote allows me to spend more time taking photos instead of constantly reconnecting to the phone app. I'm sure there are more advanced remote systems out there but this is probably the better one for the price.
