A very large speaker that took up all of my 12 inch holes. They are used in a 9.2 surround system with a Marantz 7008 receiver. I have a one story ranch house and climbed into the attic before making the cut outs because there is little room for error. In my theater room I used a compass and a string with knobs on the ceiling to mark the angles of my speakers from my listening position and it worked well. After the speakers were installed I covered the back with plastic shower caps to avoid damaging the insulation. The receiver uses an Audyssey microphone which she has tuned to perfection. With two 10-inch in-ceiling subwoofers, this system is as good as any I've heard, including theaters. For this price I am very satisfied. The only drawback are the covers, which are difficult to put on. I used a metal spatula to bend the last tab inside the rim and a board big enough to cover the entire speaker grill and hit it hard with my fist. The plate spreads the energy throughout the coating and prevents denting. You have to think of magnetic covers like Dayton Audio because they were fun and that's why I got a star.
