Good speaker for the price. The sound field is a bit narrow, but a star deduction. You have to be directly below to get clear highs.

Great sound amazing price

I have replaced some off the shelf JBL & Bose ceiling speakers with these and the mono price really does sound a lot better. Much more depth of sound, ideal for music and announcements from an automation system.

Good entry into the walls

Haven't installed them yet but tested, they will also be installed in the wall front and center with the price of mono. Compared to other in walls I've bought and played outdoors alone. I see how they can work very well.

For money? Excellent

I paid a ridiculously low amount for this (I think it was an open box or something). Use them as a back border in the ceiling. They sound surprisingly good and have a fairly smooth frequency response from 80Hz upwards (after Audyssey correction, see attached image).

Not as good as Monoprice's in-mount speakers

I've been using the Monoprice 6.5" in-mount speakers for my rear and satellite speakers for a while and love them. I upgraded my system to support Dolby ATMOS and since I liked the in-ceiling speakers so much why not use the in-ceiling speakers as the ATMOS speakers. While they were easy to assemble and beautiful to look at, they reach their limits much sooner than wall-mounted ones. I can run built-in walls at 80Hz with no problems. Ceiling speakers, on the other hand, have to run at 120Hz or…

I bought them with great pleasure only to be disappointed. I went on a whim and bought a pair of angled woofers and tweeters and I wanted to use ONE as the SB. I've always heard good things about MonoPrice, so I decided to take a chance. I'm disappointed. Installation was easy, a very heavy solid speaker with a huge magnet in the back, but the tweeter is distorted or the crossovers are not properly adjusted. A very large speaker that took up all of my 12 inch holes. They are used in a 9.2 surround system with a Marantz 7008 receiver. I have a one story ranch house and climbed into the attic before making the cut outs because there is little room for error. I really wanted to like her.

I've been a Monoprice customer for a long time. Your products have always been well-regarded and reliable, so I took a chance and bought two pairs of these 8 inch in-ceiling speakers. The Monoprice website has a large number of 4 and 5 star reviews, with absolutely no 0 to 3 star reviews.
