A software download is required to set up this remote. It's not complicated setup and setup, but it's a requirement if you want to use the basic features of highlighting or magnifying a part of the screen. That means it really can't be ported to a new presentation device. If you always use your own device, this is not a problem. The default pointer speed is too slow, I had to set it to max speed to make it look natural when moving across the screen, so I wish it had a faster speed, but it's workable. The device turns off and goes into sleep mode, so managing the device's power supply is easy. Remember to turn it off as there is no power off button. no space for the supplied charging cable. If you only charge it once or twice a month, you'll forget where you put the cord unless there's a way to hold the cord with the pointer. The backlight and the magnifying glass work perfectly. I am happy to use them. The standard slide advance feature or whatever works as expected, no glitches. I've tried this as a USB dongle connection and as a Bluetooth connection. No difference in usability. I will always use it as a Bluetooth device as it's always available after the initial setup. Successful leadership!
