If you live in snowy and/or sandy areas of our great country, this mat is a must. The rubber backing protects the parquet from snow, sand and other dirt. He does what he has to do and more. This commercial grade entrance mat looks great and keeps unwanted snow, dirt and sand from melting on top and off the ground. It's a little pricey, but well worth the extra money you're not spending on a regular entryway rug or rug that doesn't prevent moisture and dirt from going straight to the floor. We live in beautiful northern Michigan where we get our fair share of heavy snow every winter and sand in the summer. So far this winter this rug has done its job on our main back door. We also received this rug from UPS about three days after the order was delivered, which is much better than Fedex, which keeps many packages days before final delivery.
