By far the best black/UV light source I have used. When I saw the pictures people posted of the scorpions etc. I was impressed, but thought it might be a trick of the camera or something. But when I got it and tried it out it was clear that it was high quality. The best thing is it gives off practically no visible light what so ever. If I shine it at my white painted wall that is not UV reactive, at most you see a slight grey light, but it has to be dark in the room to see it. When it's pointed at something that is uv reactive, it will illuminate very bright and with very vivid color. Under UV light sources without the 365nm filter the amount of visible light outshines a lot of the color and contrast. This is the exact opposite. Anything that is not UV reactive will not glow at all, and no visible light to reflect back interfering with the UV reactive material. The battery life is fine. Since it's rechargeable and comes with a charger it's hard to complain about that.
