I had this mat on my desk for about 2 months, I cleaned my desk and found the pad left a black coating on my custom made wooden table, the residue was hard to clean, but I was able to remove them without damaging the finish on my desk. The lighting is also a cool feature but it was inconsistent and honestly didn't match the color, the red was brighter than the rest of the products on my desk and it didn't match very well. Very dissatisfied with it.
