The lens does its job very well. You can immediately forget about the hood that comes with the kit, because at a long distance the front lens is thoroughly recessed into the body, and at a small distance the hood will only interfere, shading the subject. The manual focus mechanism leaves an ambivalent feeling. On the one hand - a large stroke (almost 180 degrees), on the other - tactile sensations are not very pleasant. The ring is tight but feels very different from the old metal nikkors. The resistance of this ring comes from the gears rotating inside, which buzz and crackle as they rotate. There is also a backlash of several degrees. At the same time, autofocus works perfectly - almost silently, although not too fast.
