Review on LG 27UP850-W: Borderless, HDR Display with Height & Pivot Adjustment, Anti-Glare Coating by Brian Wallace

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent display quality, with a few weaknesses, a quick overview for Mac users.

The image quality is the same as Apple's built-in Retina display (in fact, LG is one of Apple's display suppliers). so far with some changes. Turn off HDR first. This display isn't really a good "TRUE" HDR display as it only has a peak brightness of 400 nits, despite being marketed as "HDR capable". If you really need good HDR quality for Mac users, the Apple Pro Display XDR might be the right choice. Another thing is to set the contrast ratio to 50% as it is the most similar to the 2017 iMac 4K. I don't have a calibrator so I have no idea if it gives the most accurate colors at these settings. Despite the excellent image quality, there is one major downside for me. The power supply is not integrated into the display. The monitor is powered by an external power supply. If you require a very clean table, be aware.
