Just stops working after a few weeks

Used to add a second NVMe drive to a desktop computer. It worked for a good two weeks, then the second disc just disappeared. The driver didn't even show up. I shut down the system, took out and reinserted the PCIe card, booted up the machine and now it's working. I have very little confidence that it will continue to work and am considering other NVMe PCIe card options to replace it before it fails again.
