I got them about 2 months ago I noticed a reddish color on the top of the salt shaker. Upon inspection I noticed that the screw holding the rotating lid was beginning to rust, and each time the lid was rotated the rust seeped into the salt in the shaker. I'm guessing it's the humidity. Conclusion: Inferior materials were used in the production that had to be disposed of.
