I like a few things about these shelves. I love that the pole just screws into the base and you don't need any tools. I like that they snap and slowly retract and don't whip anyone near them. In addition, longer dimensions are an advantage. My son thought I was crazy because I was in awe of them. He said racks are racks. We used them to separate the VIP area and it soon made a difference when the others literally "didn't have enough" for our needs as they were only 6.5ft long while this one was 10ft and plenty were better quality. i buy more
