I used an iPad stand that attaches to my mic stand and when it's standing alone it's much nicer and more secure. It's easy to assemble and when assembled it really holds my iPad. The top that actually holds the iPad needs to be very secure and I would recommend holding the iPad with your arms outstretched to the sides as it fits snugly and I almost dropped my iPad for not enough lag. The ball that gives mobility to the stand at the very top has a slot to allow the iPad to flex, but you have to see that visually or it won't adjust properly. For the price this is really good quality and I trust it. Help, my iPad is present. I'm sure over time I can get caught on something too hard and break the plastic - I've done this with a mic stand or two. Nothing is perfect, and if you don't want that stand to be made out of good, heavy-duty steel, plastic is as good as it gets and costs a fortune.
