Yes, they shine! The description doesn't say much but my son and I were happy and surprised because they shine. Not expected but even better! I ordered the boy style with red soles. I found the contrasting red sole an odd design, but given Carter's price and quality, who cares? These boots are easy to slip on and off and the C-shaped Velcro straps wrap nicely around the shin and fit snugly. I am very happy with this purchase! Just what my son needs for the winter and the headlights are a cool bonus :)
