I have a 20 lb cattle dog mix. I bought a 50ft pink leash (because it's easy to spot on the ground when I need to grab it quickly). The leash itself is made of thin but durable nylon material. There were a few knots on my leash but overall it didn't affect use. Since I let the leash drag and it's a light color, it also gets dirty very easily. After a few months of use, it's no longer bright pink but has a brown spot all over it. Again, this doesn't affect usage in general. These are just minor cosmetic issues. The clasp is very light but I haven't had any problems with it. My dog, although small, can really pull when he wants to. One day I didn't notice a dog approaching until it was too late, so I just had to grab the leash instead of the handle. The leash seemed to cut into my hand, leaving burn marks, and I had a hard time holding it. I think the leash would actually snap your arm if a bigger dog pulled like that. Regardless, this leash is functional and inexpensive, so I would recommend it for outdoor play (like fetch), off-leash training, and repetition. Let the dog run in open areas. In response to other reviewers, I would not recommend this for tying your dog in the yard. This is a leash and should only be used under supervision. If you want to tie your dog, use a chain or cord. That's how it's done.
