I have had edema since I twisted my ankle at 18. Now 62, my foot is very uncomfortable whenever I sit or stand for prolonged periods, or if it is hot. I put my new ankle sleeves on late in the day when they arrived and can say they were comfortable and very effective in reducing the swelling in my foot just in the few hours I wore them that day. The compression is slight down near the toes and increases near the malleolus (ankle bone) where I tend to swell the worst and continues up the leg. I have asked the company to consider making the socks run higher up the leg like crew socks so the compression can alleviate swelling in my lower leg. These are a lot more comfortable to wear and put on than full compression kneehighs. The least discomfort to get the job done.
