I've lost my dinner several times when the IV pole fell and the sudden overload of falling and hitting the ground ripped the strap holding the IV bag. I wanted self-adjusting stop plates that can lock the retractable stem in the UP position. The problem arises because the pressure in the jaws is not working. What works is pressure on the tips of the pliers. So while holding the bar with one hand, I only have one hand to align the edges of the jaws in the correct position to lock and hold. If I don't do it right, I run the risk of spilling the food all over the floor again. I'm buying another brand that I've had success with before, the Ampro T19351 pliers. I keep them for work in the garage.
