I ordered this collar for my GSD mix. It will NOT fit a 17" neck, it's too small. Luckily I also have a small GSD mix that fits. The teeth are not properly rounded for a real Sprenger collar and the links are not of the same quality in my opinion. like sprinklers. So look for size and quality at the same price. It will work great for my well trained dog who doesn't pull and needs little to no guidance. I certainly wouldn't buy this collar if you are training or have a difficult dog or a dog that pulls. I think after putting it on my hand (and neck) to check, the dog will feel pain when it pulls. I only use some of the prong caps I have and cut my losses. Sprenger collars are great when used properly. Don't be distracted by this product.
