Bought size 8-10 for my 8 year old child. She's quite short for her age (the height of my 6 year old) but strong. It fit her very well. I took a size 6-8 for my 6 year old thinking that wouldn't be a problem as they are at the end of the size range (they are thin but average height for their age). The outfit hugs her waist but shows a bit of underwear. I asked 6 year olds to try on size 8-10 but it was too big. I hope this helps someone else figure out if this would work for their daughter!
