I love vinyl. I have a collection of hundreds of albums that I've bought over the past few years and it's growing all the time. Since I love my vinyl so much, I want a turntable in every room of my house. A few years ago when I was a student I had a portable turntable (Crosley) and was pretty happy with it until it broke, so I decided to try another styled turntable. I've since bought a few rare and limited editions that I can't play here (in case you didn't know, those cheaper turntables can damage vinyl in the long run), but at least I can give them a thumbs up. Go to some of my most common albums. I was very happy with all the features it boasted, mainly the ability to connect external Bluetooth speakers to it. My speakers and headphones paired flawlessly, which was great. My only issue with Bluetooth is that there's quite a bit of lag between the player and the speaker - it's not a big deal overall and it's hard to tell if it's an issue with my devices or the player itself. As for speakers, they're probably what you'd expect. The quality is quite cheap in sound and a bit tinny. If you don't like audio quality or want to use external speakers, this should work for you. Anyone who was used to everything but the built-in speaker will probably be annoyed by the sound quality. I don't remember feeling this way about my Crosley a few years ago, but that was a few years ago and my gear has gotten a lot better since then. Good quality sticker sheets included. Not all are my style, but some of the Victrola-specific ones are pretty nifty and I'll use them elsewhere than on the player itself. My biggest gripe with this player is probably just the construction - almost $80. Player, I expect some parts to get better. The handle, for example, is a single piece of molded plastic that looks particularly cheap. I understand the need for the exterior to be able to carry stickers, it's not a big deal, but some of the actual components inside the case aren't great either. It feels like the player's actual function was more of an afterthought of novelty and design. Again, for $80 you can't move the turntable around in the case. I think this player is good for those who are just starting out or for the casual listener who likes the idea of personalizing their player with all the stickers. . It can also be a great birthday or Christmas gift, especially when combined with 1 or 2 albums. It gets the job done and I will continue to use it frequently in my art studio with a bluetooth speaker. Overall I don't think some of the components are worth the price, especially when I had a better case player for a lower price.
