Review on πŸ“± Graphite Handspring Visor Serial Hotsync Docking Cradle by Andy Ucros

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great alternative

Great that Handspring makes this option available. My desktop has USB, so the USB stand that came with the visor is just what you need. But my laptop doesn't have USB. There are three options available. First, it's natural to live without a second cradle for a while because I'll be able to buy a new laptop soon. Who knows! Second, buy a PCMCIA card adapter for USB port. Third, buy a Handspring serial port stand. It's not a big decision, but it's not an easy one either. In fact, I thought about it for a while before deciding on a tote bag. The main reason for buying a storage stand is that I need a second stand, one at home and one at work. Yes, the serial docking station is much slower than USB, but Palm users have always used and continue to use the slow serial port synchronization. In that regard, I have Handspring to thank for introducing fast USB syncing while also providing a cradle for the serial port. As a standalone product I'd give it a four star rating due to its lack of speed, but as an option in a full product line the bearing stand deserves a solid five.
