This does not apply to these shielded VCE modular connectors. These units have excellent build quality - the metal body is very solid and there were no defects in my order. The plastic clips also flexed badly and none of them broke when inserted into the patch panel. I love the contrast between the shiny metal finish and the black network rack. I've verified that my gigabit internet speeds are working fine through these ports - no noticeable difference from my previous setup. In terms of issues, the only thing I found was that it wobbled a bit after pasting them into my Cable Matters patch panel, but I think this is normal and it doesn't affect their performance in any way. . Great bundle of ethernet ports that does the job, I suggest you use them.
