Made of solid brass, not cheap plastic. I read all the reviews before purchasing and this sounded like the best quality. It works great, the water flows out at a decreasing rate and the water drops are soothing. Before installing, I did what some people have mentioned in the reviews, which was to manually unscrew the nut on the angle adjuster on the back, take a small screwdriver, and pry out the screen and water flow restrictor to help the water flow better. Before doing this you will need to unscrew the clear plastic cover on the other end so you can take out the cover and stopper. I threw away the clear plastic strainer thinking it would collect dirt, clog and slow the water flow. It comes with a black plastic piece that loosens the screw on the front of the shower head, allowing you to remove your face and clean it without removing the entire unit from the wall. So try not to throw it away. Remove the cardboard that holds the shower head in the box as the instructions and other details are underneath. I am also buying a Danze D481116BN 13" S shaped shower head complete with shower head. It is durable like this shower head, no plastic and a must for use with this shower head. You can tilt the shower head to suit any needs.
