Forney 60264 Mini Chuck: Poorly Designed, Poorly Constructed, Poorly Performing

- I found this item to be poorly designed and crudely made. Even though it was "only $5.99", I'll probably still return it, pay the extra dollar, and buy a Dremel cartridge, knowing *it* works properly. My specific complaints are: 1) the yoke, which bolts onto the rotary tool, simply bolts into the chuck itself, with no welding or even gluing; 2) it arrived unscrewed/disassembled, and when I took it out of the box to screw it on, however, I saw that the small washer, which was apparently supposed to simultaneously move the jaws and center the mandrel or drill bit, was and was lost when it was installed therefore not self centered; are in Dremel brand cartridges and seem too prone to potential damage in my opinion; 4) The base of the ring mentioned in the first point is *so* thick that the chuck can't thread all the way onto the tool and therefore can't adequately hold a regular mandrel or bit with a 1/8" shank (I can't Trust it enough to even *include* a bit tool in this thing, so using it with one of the smaller diameter Dremel drill bits is out of the question. and the first ((mandrel for adapting cutting discs with 3/8" mount to 1/4" shank)) was also unusable because it was uneven and the disc wobbled! Other opinions may differ, but personally I will avoid Forni.

Pros
  • Designed for use with high speed rotary tools
Cons
  • Expensive
