To leave much to be desired is an understatement. Luckily there is YouTube. Once I figured out how to attach the rubber washer screws to the hinge itself, installation was pretty easy, but it would be nice to have some grammatically correct instructions that actually make sense. I only had to use a loop for my closed kitty bowl. The hinge is very strong and runs very smoothly. Really good buy once you get the hang of assembly/installation.
