I use this for a self contained home. I have a solar panel, inverter, batteries so the pump can run on AC power. I also have a 12v DC pump that will work with it. They're about the same physical size close by, but this pump is noticeably better, builds pressure faster and really pumps water. I got this specifically for laundry as the DC pump was draining the batteries even when I was running the alternator for the washing machine. Now I can start the generator, start washing and the new pump will be powered by the generator. The pressure switch works properly, builds pressure and shuts off as expected. Please note that you must wire this switch to the circuit, it is supplied with bare wires and no plug.
