Good Sashiko Needles

These needles arrived quickly, nicely packaged, needles in a thoughtful box, needles in a glass tube with a small cork stopper. Threading the sashiko thread into the eyelet is not difficult. But I can't say I thought the eye was much bigger than other needles. Tulip and Olympus seem to be the cheapest sashiko needles considered to be of higher quality, some people prefer Tulip needles as they are thinner. than the needles of Olympus or Clover. But that's exactly what I've read in other people's needle recommendations, I'm new to Sashiko. I would recommend that you visit Tulip Needles' English website and read their information about their Sashiko needles. Just search the internet for "tulip 広島針"=Hiroshima Tulip Needle and you will find their website. Check out the Needlework / Sewing Needles section. Good information on the design and how it's made, plus a link to a 9 page PDF describing their crafting needles. For sashiko needles see page 6. Pros
  • If you use single-use sashiko thread, this Big Eye Straight Thin Size is your best choice. If you want to sew a double stitch, use a thicker needle (coming soon).
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
